Tammy Salzl is a Montreal based painter whose figurative works use allegory and metaphor to convey what it means to be human in today's world. Our stories run through her work as a narrative: sometimes overt and enhanced by natural surroundings and supporting cast, and at other times whispered through the expression of face and body and raw flesh.

Tammy has exhibited in public galleries and artist run centres across Canada as well as internationally. Recent solo exhibitions have been staged at The Dawson College Warren G. Flowers Gallery in Montreal, the Union Gallery in Kingston, Ontario, the AKA Gallery in Saskatoon, a solo show with residency at the SlaM Gallery in Berlin, Germany and two person shows at Latitude 53 Gallery in Edmonton and at the FOFA Gallery in Montreal. Salzl is a Tedeschi Scholarship recipient and has received grants and residencies from QALC, KIAC Centre in Dawson City Yukon, the Banff Centre, and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She has upcoming shows in Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton and Toronto.
