ARTNOW presents:

Virginia McClure

The late Virginia McClure, artist and philanthropist will be presented by Victoria Le Blanc, director of the Visual Arts Centre in Westmount, Quebec

Sunshine has produced artworks in one form or another for as long as she can remember.  Her formal education started with the Comprehensive Art Program certificate from the former Saidie Bronfman Centre  after which she completed the program in fine arts and illustration at Dawson and a fine arts degree at Concordia University.   According to Sunshine, her rigorous training in design and illustration allows her to willfully disregard formal rules and concepts.

Her current work is characterized by a dreamlike quality that merges fragments of the visual and the imaginary. For Sunshine, formlessness retains an unseen energy that is more powerful and consistent than the physical forms that surround us.  Looking at her  paintings, the delicate colours and rhythmic fusion of worldly and unworldly elements  gives one a sense of  the mysteries of  life where time is translated into eternal energies that touch the inner recesses of the soul.
